The flashcard widget your Home Screen has been missing

You check your phone around 100 times a day. FlashStacks puts a study card in front of you every single time — on your Home Screen, your Lock Screen, and even the Dynamic Island.

Why widget studying works

The hardest part of studying isn't the studying — it's the starting. Opening an app is a decision; glancing at your Home Screen isn't. By living where your attention already goes, FlashStacks removes the activation energy entirely. Micro-reviews across the day add up to real spaced repetition, the most evidence-backed way to move facts into long-term memory.

How the widget works

  • Automatic rotation — cards change on a schedule you pick, from every minute to every few hours
  • Tap to reveal — tap the widget to flip the card and see the answer, right on the Home Screen
  • Tap to advance — move to the next card without opening the app
  • Colour-matched — the widget takes on your stack's colour palette
  • Every size — small, medium, and large Home Screen widgets, plus Lock Screen widgets

How to add a flashcard widget to your iPhone Home Screen

Adding the FlashStacks widget takes under a minute: long press any empty area of your Home Screen until icons jiggle, tap the + button in the top-left corner, search for "FlashStacks", then choose a size and tap Add Widget. Your active stack appears immediately.

  1. Long press your Home Screen — hold any empty area until icons jiggle
  2. Tap the + button in the top-left corner
  3. Search "FlashStacks"
  4. Choose a size and add it — your active stack appears immediately

How to put flashcards on your Lock Screen

With Premium, FlashStacks also lives on your Lock Screen — a question is literally the first thing you see when you pick up your phone. Long press your Lock Screen, tap Customise, select the widget area, and add FlashStacks. Choose question-only mode to force active recall, or question-and-answer mode for passive absorption.

Fill it with cards in seconds

Don't want to write cards by hand? Upload a PDF and AI generates a widget-ready deck from your lecture slides or textbook — with a mode that keeps every question short enough to read at a glance.

Can I control how often cards rotate?

Yes, each stack has its own rotation interval — from every minute to every few hours.
